Many of us shouldn’t be surprised by the fact that Microsoft’s Upcoming Mobile Platform named ‘Windows Phone 7’ Will Have ‘Bing’ as their search engine , but what surprised us , is the fact that ‘Bing’ will be the One and Only Default Search Engine for Windows Phone 7 OS.
Yes and it removed all other Engines as alternate options beside the Default.
The search engine has been heavily integrated into the OS, so it would be hard to offer an alternative
Says so Greg Sullivan, senior product manager for Microsoft . To make things more clear Microsoft made it clear that this move was made due to the Inbuilt ‘Tell Me’ Feature , a Voice Supported Search Feature now found on Google’s Nexus One and some other Android Devices. So its hard to provide other search engines a chance because Bing is so far integrated into the OS and its features.
Conclusion : Apart from the features , this is clearly a move of Microsoft trying to Increase the Search Engine market.
