Could HTML5 Kill the Need of RIA Tools like Flash , JavaFX or Silverlight ?
Most of us are already familiar with RIAs like Flash , Flex , Silverlight and JavaFX , we see these almost everywhere now , but the newly launched and much anticipated Web Standard which was being worked upon from 2003 , Finally it came up and that too with a Bang right at the face of RIA Masters , Microsoft , Sun , Adobe , How ?
Well HTML 5 has been launched with many possibilities which is now supposed to redefine the web as we know now , the title says it almost , that is , HTML is here to  put an end to RIAs like mentioned above , as it is now capable to provide the same and that too without the need of any additional plugins , that is now the web will become even more enhanced and that too without much efforts.
I Hope it does help the concept of Cloud Computing to reach a bit above further.
As defined in one os the GOALS of HTML 5 is this one
To move the Web away from proprietary technologies such as Flash, Silverlight, and JavaFX.
Upon this some comments were like this.
It would be a terrible step backward if humanity’s major development platform [the Web] was controlled by a single vendor the way that previous platforms such as Windows have been
says HTML 5 co-editor Ian Hickson, a Google employee.
But whether HTML 5 and its Canvas technology will displace proprietary plug-ins “really depends on what developers do”.
Says Firefox technical lead Vlad Vukicevic.
Most of this is also dependent of Microsoft as its the one  being a Browser and a RIA Developer.
